My wife and I are looking at visiting SXM in Feb/March and we've never been! We are searching for a nice one bedroom with kitchen on a beach. We would also like to be away from the more populated areas, but if there's a quiet corner on a popular beach that could work too! I have found some villas in the Nettle Bay Beach Club area that look nice. Any info on this area? All suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

The beach at NBBC isn't particularly good. There is lots of rocks, stuff, sometimes glass, on the beach there. (You already know my suggestion of where to stay. )

We would suggest Grand Case Beach Club, on the french side. Has exactly what you are looking for. Quiet beach, and you can walk to wonderful restaurants. Good Luck!

If you are talking about Feb. March of this year, whatever you do, you better do it in a hurry, things will be booked!

Same with car rental reservations.

We are going in Feb and since we are staying in Orient Beach and are concerned about the beach conditions based on all of the recent reviews, I started looking at other areas. There were a few places available in Grand Case but in general not much is left. There are however, plenty of places in Orient Beach available from what I can tell.

I think Carol's choice of BSV would fit your needs perfectly

We like the look of BSV and the beach, but are having trouble visualizing the airport activity from simpson bay? Rasputin yes we are looking at this February! Need to scramble a bit!! Keep the ideas coming please! And are there preferred car rental agencies at the airport? Do we need 4 wheel drive to go off the beaten path some? Thanks

I tried to respond to your question re the airport in the BVI people talk but not sure I understand the question.

Regarding car rentals, just go to the TTOL sponsors list and pick one! Again, you should hustle with that! February is technically before Heineken though, as it's a bit later this year. You don't need 4 wheel drive at all. Just get a beat up corolla like everyone else does.

I've never stayed at BSV, but I've overnighted many times right near there, at anchor. Airport not bothersome to us at all.

"one bedroom, with a kitchen, on the beach"

There are certainly places like that on island not mentioned in this thread, it all depends what your budget is!

No, I would not. It is a residential area, going toward Sunset, narrow streets, very little street light. Theoretically, you could walk along the beach to Karakter, but I would not, as it is just a big empty stretch of beach between there and Beachside.
