Quick review of Neptune rental in Orient
We checked out Neptune while we were stating in Orient last year and found it to be nicer than where we were staying and slightly less
It think the nightly rate is actually less than our extra nights at Royal Islander
Sonya is our booking agent and have worked with her in the past, all good
Magli is on site agent and also good response

Double wide porch overlooking two pools and Orient beach including Kontiki beach bar
Probably 5 minute walk to Orange Fever although we drive if hot and humid
5 minute safe walk to village and variety of shops
5 minute drive to Sebastian Quillere Patisserie and also Bachus Express for bakery goods although there is a petite spot / bakery in the village
Sebastien's desserts taste as good as they look, glad not within walking distance

Large fully stocked kitchen including cabinets fill with olive oil, vinegars, spices
Refrigerator also basic condiments including some beers, sodas and a bottle of rose
about a dozen nespresso pods available along with frother if you wish to make a cappuccino

Now atop the bar cabinet was a bottle of Aperol and Malibu rum, they must have know my wife loves aperol spritz and malibu bay breeze
Underneath was bottles of assorted liquors and island rum, and for taravo several shakers for making martinis (vodka provided, and must be dry)

searching through cabinets we have found anything and anything you could possibly need
bug spay, plenty of linens, tp, kitchen gadgets, sunglasses, covid tests, extension cords and adapters, games, books, perfume, moisturizers, litres of water in frig
it was fun shouting out what we found although little will be used probably, not even a beer

Only thing missing was a drip coffee pot but there is a hot water kettle and a french press which made a good 3 cups this morning

Air conditioning rocks, Wifi works
Almost forgot and something we aren't used to is the French only TV besides netflix
Yesterday was busy so not sure if we will miss not watching television
I'm thinking it may for the best to unwind without it

Being the off season maybe only 8 of the estimated 30 units are occupied
Only a few joining us at the pool which was mostly ours for the entire day
Minor downside is our unit is second and third floor so we must exit unit and 2 minute walk to gated pool

As for our first full day, a bit cloudy in the morning so hit bakeries
Breakfast in every morning, same thing, coffee, OJ, ham, egg and cheese croissant, banana and maybe a pre purchased breakfast bread as a treat

Lunch was leftover fish from night before and charcuterie
If you enjoy cheese, the truffle cheese we got as Super U was very good

Meeting our Saba friends at Mario's tonight before we visit them next week in Saba

Carib Lee enjoy your sunset cruise and still thinking about a drink, maybe we'll sneak a drink at brunch since we plan on going the following Sunday and usually find it extremely hot

not good at links so may need to find Neptune under orient listings

No US TV = No US TV News. We can all take a break from that now and then.

Mahokid--the unit looks nice. I would also be concerned about no US TV. It seems that most of the rentals on Orient do not have US TV. I'm old, that's my evening entertainment these days.

I did look up this property earlier today and the website I looked at said the property was on the first floor. I looked at the pictures and thought that was unlikely. Stairs are an issue for me. To be clear, you climb one set of stairs (outside??) and then the main areas and two bedrooms on that floor, and only the third bedroom on the next floor up?

Have to have US TV. Especially US news. Vacation or not. Have to have the FOX news. 👍

Condo looks fantastic! According to your report, it seems great for people who like to walk because all is just 5 min walk way.

Yes, mentioned on second floor as still okay with steps although they seem steeper coming home from diner after a few drinks
We are not using the third floor bedroom as all else is on second floor, so not that bad

Really surprised but enjoying the break from TV and we do watch it a good amount at home

Told wife the world ended and we just haven't heard about it yet, she believed me as we are now in paradise

Watching sports recap of baseball game in only about 5 minutes

This appears to be the old Alamanda Hotel? We stayed there per Irma and adored it.

For those worried about their U.S. TV, just take your Apple TV device & an HDMI cable with you (every place has wifi)...problem solved!

Thanks for the in depth review of Neptune. It looks great. A few follow up questions - do the individual bedrooms have tv's, and do all bathrooms include toilets? I know some times the descriptions on the French side may list 3 bathrooms, for example, but those are bathing rooms and there's only 1 shared w/c. I just like to know the logistics since in recent years we travel with a family member. We don't really "need" tv on vacation, especially to SXM, but we do enjoy flipping it on for a few minutes at the end of the day before bed.

Leftover bits and baubles from previous guests are always fun. Although, it's stirred and gin for me. Magli was lovely to work with in January.
Are there chairs and seating around the pool?
Your food looks great and I am very excited to continue reading about your trip. Thanks for taking the time to share in such detail.

Carol - You do need to verify the floor for French-side rentals. Floor numbering may use the French convention, where the ground floor is Floor Zero, and what we would call the 2nd Floor would be their 1st Floor.

Doubled check no Gin

on main floor european queen with full bath and toilet, TV,
second bedroom on main floor european queen, shower right out side of room and toilet directly across NO TV
third bedroom on upper floor, kind with full bath and toilet, TV

Third day and haven't put on TV although I do sleep with it in my hand (if you husband is anything like me always keeping remote in hand )

no chairs around pool but plenty of beach chairs in closet and in storage on deck
not a problem for us as we never lay out and are always floating on rafts in pool

Yes - we are "noodle" people in the pool for sure.
