Most of my travel down has been covered in the arrival to PJIA thread. I was rather shocked to find the AA flight from CLT was just a little over 1/2 full. I had an entire row to myself and several other rows were totally vacant as well.
I got my rental and checked in with Angela at The Horny Toad. It appears I am the only guest here. Doug and Debbie are off island but return on Saturday. Angela was kind enough to provide me with a couple of beers since alcohol sales were banned until 6:00am Tuesday.
I wanted to make a grocery stop but traffic in the Simpson Bay/Cole Bay area was very heavy due to the elections and last minute campaigning. I will make a grocery run tomorrow. I went to The Greenhouse for prime rib. They were very slow but I was early. They were serving a full bar. The prime rib was decent, I have had better and I have had some not as good. I would rate is a 7 on a scale of 10. Two side dishes and a johnny cake made for a nice meal. I ate at the bar and when I left they had a few tables filled. In talking to the bartenders, they have been very slow for a several weeks now. It was probably as slow as I have ever seen the place.
Back to Horny Toad and in for the evening. I have been up since 2:30am but can't seem to sleep so I thought I would update my travel day.

Enjoy your stay! It always takes me a couple of days to get my sleep patterns down.

From the picture he posted in another thread, he's upstairs. My guess, since he's the only guest, is he's in #4 - on the end by the pavilion.

Off to a good start! Do you usually make a trip there in August?

I have been in in August in the past but it has been many years. I found air on AA at a very reasonable fare so I jumped on it and you can't beat The Horny Toad in low season.
