MrEZ,

Where are you seeing that it moderated?

I'm seeing nearly 40mph wind and significant rainfall.

The same forecast yesterday (windguru) had wind speeds and gusts almost 10kts higher and also swells to 3m.

EDIT: certainly don't mean to minimize the impact, just noting the change from yesterday.

Anyone know if charter companies are calling boats back to base?

I saw that Puerto Rico just cancelled public school starting tomorrow due to the storm.

Current aviation forecast has peak winds at 40 knots Wednesday morning at STT. Boats should be able to get back out on charter Thursday AM.

Forecast picking up, and BVI Gov announces airports closed for tomorrow.

I am sure they will remain closed through Wednesday as well.

According to Stom Carib, the closest point of approach for Tortola is supposed to be just after midnight tonight. So one would think perhaps the airport could reopen tomorrow.

Stay safe, everyone!

Looks like most of the webcams are offline. The storm was a bit stronger than forecast when it went over the BVI. Things should be improving rapidly by noon. The STT airport is currently closed. Update at noon.

I am surprised any boats were left on Jost for the storm.

The picture he posted only shows a couple of small boats. No cats that I can see. He responded to someone asking if everyone is okay. His response was "Everyone is okay but we lost a lot of boats."

Soggy's webcam is back online. Great Harbor looks like they lost some boats looking at FB.
