Around where I live, they often have DUI checkpoints but they are REQUIRED by law to announce the location and times 24 hours prior. They still get a minimal number of offenders as they usually do not bother to check local news sources or social media.
I don't get it here or there but I guess the threat of doing something MIGHT have an impact.
