Sooooo anyone been lately? We are booking a trip for April of 2025. Looking to stay in the St Lawrence Gap area. Just wondering if anyone had anything good, bad or indifferent to add.

Just back a few days ago. Stayed at The Yellow Bird. The Gap area Is very tourist oriented and comes alive at night. Have also stayed at Southern Palms. Lots of bars and restaurants within walking distance. In terms of beaches, the resort ones are nice, but lots of wave action.

Thanks for the info! It’ll be our first time there. We haven’t settled on staying at the gap. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! We are going to get a car so we can see as much as possible.

If you rent a car, take a day trip out to the east coast around Bathsheba - rugged and scenic with a few local restaurants.

Ignore any entreaties to visit the Friday Night Fish Fry in Oistins. It's a dreadful tourist trap with really poor food on paper plates and third-rate local musicians butchering Bob Marley songs very loudly. Elswehere the West Coast is more upmarket but food and particularly wine is very expensive in most restaurants. At The Tides restaurant late last year we noted the surf and turf ( 6oz fillet, three prawns ) was US$90 and a bottle of supermaket Sauvigno Blanc US$125. You can eat in cheaper joints but you've got to be a fan of the deep-fat fryer and mac'n'cheese.
