We stayed in Anse Marcel 15 years ago when the Radisson was there ( I think it was a Radisson) and are considering visiting again and looking at Anse Marcel Beach Resort. I'm very familiar with GC and OB but haven't seen Anne Marcel since that visit 15 years ago. Are there any shops or restaurants in the marina or immediate vicinity? It seems the Beach Resort restaurant is not open for dinner. I know much was damaged or destroyed in 2017. I know a Secrets opened where the Radisson was but is that still open? I am having a hard time finding current information about Anse Marcel. Any info is appreciated!
I actually don't know anything about Anse Marcel Beach Resort. I did read that Secrets had closed. To my knowledge, I don't think there are any shops or restaurants there, other than Anse Marcel Beach Club.
There is an entire shopping area across the way from Secrets. (6-7 shops) Around the back side of the marina. Some restaurants and I think two other hotels/residences. This was in March. Could all be closed for low season. .
Was there end of May, beginning of June. Secrets was closed for renovation. Doubt it will open until next season. Didn't see any sign of life at Blue Sail so that was probably closed as well. There is a Petit Casino mini-market, a sushi restaurant, a couple of clothes shops and a laundry. That's it I think.
Although I don't know for sure, I don't think it will reopen as Secrets. It was not BUILT 4 years ago. It was remodeled and opened as Secrets relatively recently, not sure how long ago. The buildings have been there for quite a while, under different names.
Anse Marcel was badly hit during IRMA. They did virtually rebuild the whole place. I was salvaging a catamaran opposite the building site and it was a major rebuild.
Irma was 2017. I don't know whether there was something else opened there after Irma and before Secrets or not, as it's hard to keep track of that area.
