Has anyone flown Island Birds from EIS to Isla Grande Airport, San Juan?

If so, can you give me a short "time length" scenario? ie, leave EIS at noon > 30-45 minute flight to Isla Grande, PR > Customs there (time length?) > cab ride to SJU Airport (10 minutes?)

Also, any other fees and approx cab price?

thx, rrs

What are your dates? If after November 1st, why not fly Tradewind Aviation straight into the San Juan airport.

Maybe George can chime in here: But, there quoting $500 cheaper flying into Isla Grande instead of SJU

SJU is a high cost airport to operate from. I suspect the cost difference is multiple fees the SJU airport charges.

It is the fees at SJU...we fly IB frequently. I thought for the larger plane it was more than $500. We still choose SJU since the incremental cost on the trip isnt worth slowing us down from getting to base and getting out on the boat. This time we had another group meet us and they were late and IB waited 1.5 hours as the pilot Marshal indicated he had nothing else to do

The fees at SJU had a lot to do with American shutting down the Caribbean hub in SJU. American was particularly upset that SJU was charging significantly less for low cost airlines. I miss the days of 4 to 6 flights a day SJU-EIS with 64 seat aircraft plus the 120 dollar round trip airfares. Americans pull out sent air and ferry prices soaring.
