Hello! We are SXM lovers for many years but have never experienced the British Virgin Islands. Has anyone flown to EIS from SXM for a day trip? Not sure if that’s realistic but trying figure it out. It would be in late April.

I think you COULD do it, but not sure why you would want to. It would be pretty expensive. The last I knew, Liat does that route, but I have no idea whether the timing would lend itself to a same day return or not. I would say not. Better to spend at least a few days there, if you want to go. There are several islands there and they are all different. AA now has a non-stop from Tortola to Miami. So, your best bet for a combined trip might be a one way to SXM, a few days there, flight to Tortola, a few days there and one way from Tortola to Miami.

That’s great information. I have flights on AA on hold to both SXM & EIS so we need to make up our mind! Carol have you ever stayed in Tortola?

Don't miss out on a trip to the BVI. So much to do and so much to see. Visit the other islands. Very friendly locals. Beautiful beaches, don't miss the Baths on Virgin Gorda! It's really a great place to visit. I could live there.

One of the best vacations ever was at Bitter End Yacht Club on Virgin Gorda.

A day trip to the BVI isn't a great option. First off, the flight is rather expensive due to BVI imposed charges. And Beef Island (EIS) airport is at the eastern extremity of Tortola and much of the fun stuff is located much further west in terms of travel time; so experiencing the island and making a return flight the same day isn't going to happen.
Others here have posted about Virgin Gorda being a great destination - but you won't make it there and back on a single-day trip.
Planning a longer stay would make for a great trip, but a single-day excursion is not an option.

We once stayed on St John, toured the BVI then flew to SXM for a weeks stay. Too much.
Make the BVI & USVI a separate trip for more fun and relaxation.
We've taken day trips from SXM to Saba and to Stacia, and St Kits and St Barts, and Anguilla. Each was doable in a day.

We did a bareboat on throght the BVI"s for a week then took the ferry, if you can call it that, to St Thomas for a week. Lots to see and do.
