Good day everyone,

Planning a bareboat trip on a Moorings 4500 (4 couples - 50's/60's). Our last one was in 2010 so I'm looking for feedback/comments/alternatives on the following tentative itinerary.

Half of the crew is planning to fly in on the 11th and sleep either at Village Cay or the Moorings' hotel (comments seem to favor Village Cay). Comments?

Sunday Jan 12th
- Crew meets at the Moorings' base in the am - boat scheduled to be ready by noon (island time so might slip by an hour or two).
- If ready early enough, we'll sail across to Peter Island otherwise we'll spend the night on site (is Charlie's recommended?).

Monday Jan 13th
- Early sail to Trellis Bay for full moon party (will be our 1st one).
- Trellis Market Bar and Grill for buffet/evening.

Tuesday Jan 14th
- Sail to Cooper Island
- Enjoy beach and happy hour

Wednesday Jan 15th
- Sail to Leverick Bay (at a slip for 2 nights)
- Catch Michael Beans' show

Thursday Jan 16th
- Land trip to the Baths (safari truck rental) and lunch on site
- Dinghy ride across to Saba Rock for 5pm Tarpon feeding - Is this doable (likely a wet ride)?

Friday Jan 17th
- Sail to Anegada (on a ball for 2 nights)
- Reserve a place for a lobster dinner (suggestions?)
- Reserve a vehicle for the following day (should we book in advance?)

Saturday Jan 18th
- Land exploration of the island
- Suggestions on best places to visit? Where to have lunch?

Sunday Jan 19th
- Sail to Cane Garden Bay
- Planning to have dinner on shore, suggestions?

Monday Jan 20th
- Sail to Little Jost Van Dyke and anchor near Sandy spit
- Visit Foxy's taboo and bubbly pool
- Sail to Great Harbour
- Happy hour at Foxy's
- Should we skip Little Jost Van Dyke, arrive early at GH and taxi to White Bay instead?

Tuesday Jan 21st
- Sail to Norman Island
- Dinner at the Pirate's bight and visit to the Willy T

Wednesday Jan 22nd
- Sail to the Caves and/or the Indians for a lunch and snorkeling stop
- Sail to the Moorings' base in the afternoon.

Thanks in advance for your valuable input!

Richard.

Thoughts interlaced in caps for readability....all IMHO. Just got back last week

TRELLIS IS REDLINED WITH MOORINGS AND GIVEN ADDED CLUSTERF OF FULL MOON MAY I SUGGEST MARINA CAY AND DIGNHY OVER OR USE THE SCRUB ISLAND BOAT TAXI? IF YOU GO THERE SNORKELING AT DIAMOND REEF WAS GREAT
- Trellis Market Bar and Grill for buffet/evening.

- Enjoy beach and happy hour NICE HIKE UP HILL

Sleep aboard the boat the night of the 11th. The Moorings has a nice pool area and bar. Hang out there and eat off the bar menu. Good burgers, fish sandwiches, wings ect.. I don’t recommend Charlie’s but others like it. The whole process of getting off the dock will be much better with a sleepaboard.
Dinghy ride is to far from Leverick to Saba. Move the boat over to a Saba or BEYC ball.

Getting a ball in Great Harbor is tough. If you can win the BB lottery do that and then spend the day at Sandy Spit/Foxy's Taboo/Bubbly knowing you have a spot to come back to. Then dinghy over to White Bay.

If you can't get a ball in GH, try LH and then land taxi to GH.

Bottom line; nail down your ball BEFORE going to Sandy Spit so you are not scrambling when done. Or, I guess you can anchor by Foxy's II but it seems exposed to me (NB I was there in June with more Southerly winds)

Agree with almost all of the above. Definitely don't plan to dinghy from Leverick to Saba. Day around JvD seems a bit packed if you're looking to take in Sandy Spit, bubbly pool, Foxy's, AND White Bay. I personally like the mooring area over by Taboo as it's less traveled. Regarding picking up a ball at Marina Cay and taking the dinghy to Trellis, I've done that and won't do it again, definitely a wet and exposed ride. The Scrub Island ferry also might not run late enough for what you're looking to do, but maybe the night of the full moon party is an exception? I'd contact Scrub to see.
