I came down to the BVI in January for the first time in 10 years. And it reactivated the BVIrus in me! So I started planning for my next trip as soon as I got home. I'm just looking for a few opinions or a little insight on which of my two possible options might be better.

1. This coming OYE at Foxy's 12/30/24 to 1/7/25. My last vacation before the big gap was a Foxy OYE trip in 2015. Or,
2. Wait to do a combo Super Bowl/Full Moon trip in Feb 6-14, 2025.

Wanted to come again in the summer months to experience some of that glass-flat surf but I can't wait that long! lol

Any thoughts would be welcome!

Will you be landbased or boat based?

It sounds as though you like parties. Foxy's Old Years is reportedly a big one. Not speaking from personal experience, as I assiduously avoid large gatherings, and make sure to get away from Trellis before a Full Moon party.

The bars show the Super Bowl, but otherwise it's not really a BVI event..

I've been to a few OYE's at Foxys since 2005 so I know what to expect there. Foxys looks like they've added a SB event this past year. And next year it's the same week as the Full Moon. I'm a landlubber so I don't concern myself too much with whether Trellis Bay is going to be packed if I decided to go there. I was a frequent attendee at the old Bomba's Full Moon parties! But now that that is gone and I haven't been back for one since 2015, I was wondering if any of the current ones are really worth going to.

In the past 10 years Foxy's OYE parties have deteriorated in my opinion (or I have just gotten older). We saw Shaggy there one year, Bunny Wailer another year and then last year it seemed kind of lame, to be honest. To be fair we didn't pay to go into the Outback last year. Since you are landbased you won't have to worry about finding a spot in the harbor and the festivities during the day are super fun but White Bay is packed during the day and Great Harbor will be bustling. Prices will be way more expensive for flights, lodging and entertainment for the week between Christmas and New Years but if you stay until January 7th at least prices will drop after the New Years crowd leaves. Personally, I would do January/February since it is much more relaxed then and prices will be less expensive.

During big events in Trellis Bay, cars will be parked back to the bridge.

I have been to them years ago...IMHO not really worth it any more. Some combination of deterioration or me getting older. We were land based on JVD a couple of weeks ago and then boat based for a week and only went to Foxy's briefly to see Foxy. IMHO Foxy's has gotten long in the tooth and we enjoy other bars better. To be fair we also avoid the crowds...

Again probably me just getting older...IMHO

Yeah, I've also got an extra 10 years beneath my heels since the last time I braved the rum punch, mushroom tea, and restrooms at Bomba's Full Moon Party!

Did OYE at Foxies 25 years ago and it was a zoo. There was a lot of vandalism with dingies and some assaults. Not my thing. Also watched a Super Bowl game at Peg Leg Landing at Nanny Cay. They set up a big tent outside for the game. Not really a big deal. As I recall only about 50 people were there.
