Subject: NV GEBE Power Outage and Restoration Update
NV GEBE informs the public that a technical issue at approximately 4:12 PM today caused a temporary disruption in our power supply, resulting in electricity outage.
Our technical team and operators promptly assessed the situation and took the necessary steps to restart the power plant. We are pleased to report that areas are currently being re-energized, and power should be fully restored shortly.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to resolve this matter with the highest level of urgency.
Where does it say the French side water is off for the island, this is the only thing I have seen.
From SAUR Grand Case - Water Supply Interruption Notice Due to a network issue, water distribution is temporarily disrupted between Rambaud and Oyster Pond. Repairs are underway, and expected to last approximately 4 hours. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this inconvenience.
After I posed earlier, the power went off again and did not come back until about 10 pm. We are staying at a friend's house in Simpson Bay, just done from the police station and the new construction.
bethandsteve--I actually remember seeing something ahead of time from GEBE about the power was supposed to be off in most of Simpson Bay for most of July 4th. Really sucks. Hope it gets a lot better for you.
We are supposed to go visit Eric's brother in St Croix next month. They have power problems there too, so it should be interesting.
This morning the electric was off from 9:30 to 2. We were at Marys Boon so did not bother us at all. Well other than we were doing laundry and washer cut off mid cycle. we will be on the French side week after next. ley you know how that goes.
More GEBE problems. July 5, 2024 Notice: Water Service Disruption Due to a power outage several areas will experience low to no water pressure. This issue will persist until power is fully restored to areas feeding our pump houses. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding.
jeepers--well, obviously NOT the whole island. Whenever GEBE says "island wide", they mean the Dutch side. Electricity on French side is totally different. I don't know if the whole Dutch side was off at one point yesterday or not.
Blooming - Don't give up so soon - there are supposed to be new generators online in the next weeks. I'm sick of it, but by the time you're here we will have forgotten all about it.
We just got back on the island from a cat trip to Statia, St Kitts and Saba. At 11 am our friends house in Simpson bay had electric and we moved to orient beach area and no electric or water problems.
