Today was a Philipsburg shopping day with lunch at Krave. That smash burger is outstanding especially when I had him substitute mozzarella instead of American Cheese. Carol would approve of the fries. 10 on a 10 scale. Avantika for tonight and Boomerang to Anguilla for tomorrow.

Thanks for all your reports so far. We visit with Juggie a couple of times each trip and he always recommends we try Kraves, but when we're in P'Burg shopping, it's usually between meals. After your review I'll make a point of going to P'Burg, hungry next time.

Have not gone to Avantika for many years, just too many other good restaurants and usually not "Kraving" thai food, but I still remember their raw salmon appetizer which I enjoyed on all visits going back to the original location behind the small complex on the lagoon.

Seems every time we visit Phillipsburg it is unbearably hot and only visit our jeweler and my shirt store Laurent for Robert Graham shirts

Scuba--this past trip, the fries overall were disappointing. Would like to see some pictures of those 10/10 fries!

I'm not one to take pictures of food. If my wife takes pictures then I post them. To busy eating and enjoying. Sorry.

This will be my last time ar Avintika. Wasn't as good as remembered in the past. Just average. Mandarin was so much better in past visits.

Happy to read about your positive review of Krave. It is definitely on our list of places to visit in November.

Krave is his son's restaurant. Never tried it.

It's nothing fancy and tucked away in a corner with no ambiance. Short menu selection but good food.

Wow. I can't believe you didn't like Avantika. It's one of our favorites.

It used to be but not now. Different chef and manager.

When did it change. Last February we had curry delivered several times and really enjoyed it.

Don't know. Couple months ago they were advising for a manager and chef.

We've had great meals at Avantika including two weeks ago (note to self, I need to do a trip report). But I'm always looking for new places. Where is Mandarin?
