Saturday June 15
We had our usual iced coffee on the balcony accompanied by another tortilla, scrambled egg with cheese.

Carol and Eric reached out to see if we wanted to meet up at Orange Fever so we spent the morning in and left for Orange Fever around 11:30. The breeze by the ocean helped a lot to moderate the warm temperatures on our walk down. Not sure why it’s feeling so hot this trip as the range of temps is usually between 84-87.

William at Orange Fever met us and led us to an umbrella and two chairs at the edge of the first row of chairs. This would afford us the option of moving our chairs to the right and stay in the shade as the sun shifts across the sky. We talked with a nice couple next to us who were also staying in the village. They said they usually vacation in Jamaica at an all inclusive but it’s getting too expensive. This was their first time in St. Martin and it sounds like they are hooked.

I saw Carol and Eric arriving up by the restaurant so we headed up and had a very nice couple hours talking with them. They are as nice as I imagined. It was quite hot due to a lack of breeze but the four of us toughed it out. We had the lobster rolls with fries but opted to just drink water. The lobster rolls were good but more sauce than lobster. Carol’s pizza looked really good so that’s on our bucket list for this week. BTW, our waiter JC cracked me up. He was always quick with a joke. We all said good bye and my wife and I headed to our chairs and took quite a long dip to cool off. We asked William to bring us a bottle of water and ice and two pina colas.

We decided to have dinner in our studio this evening of cheese, sausage, baguette, apple and rose wine. We had a nightcap of rum on ice and watched some YouTube videos.

Sunday June 16
Breakfast was eggs, baguette, fig jam and iced coffee on our balcony. Neither of us were in a mood for sand gravity, so we stayed in the cool of our air conditioned studio.

We didn’t have an appetite for a full lunch but walked down to Bikini Beach Bar, sat at the bar, and each of us had a frozen mojito, which was excellent and shared some fries. The bar tenders were non-stop busy as the restaurant was packed. We were sitting by the sink and blender so it was quite a lot of activity and noise for us during our time there today. We made a mental note not to sit there again. We’re usually out on the high top tables but all were taken.

We keep passing a shop next to Mango Cafe, name escapes me right now, that has an assortment of ice cream and sherbert. This time we weren’t going to pass by. I had chocolate and caramel ice cream in a cup and she had the chocolate and vanilla bourbon. Each dip was rich with flavor.

Tonight we made reservations for SAO. Third time there on this trip. It is always a nice ambience and consistent quality and friendly service.

Thanks for the report and photos!

Your style of vacationing is eerily similar to ours. The pizza at Orange Fever doesn’t get as much fanfare as the rest of their menu but you won’t be disappointed. Napolitaine or Sicilienne are my favorites, if you like anchovies. Good balance of toppings, thin crust and very flavorful. My wife’s not an anchovy fan so I usually have leftovers for later.

Keep up the lazy days!

Even though your days appear to be lazy, keep reporting. Especially like the restaurant info.

Thanks again for sharing food and photos. I know the little ice cream place you're talking about; we frequented that spot in January. 3 times to Sao this trip? That's enough to sell me on trying it next time. Enjoy.
