When we were at OBBR this past winter, we were told that the property had been purchased by an Italian company that planned to put in a 'high-end' marina with a few low rise condos. Apparently the company already has some business in St. Barths also. They said that OBBR management had had some discussions with the company and was happy with the intended plans. Its my guess that it will take a considerable amount of time to acquire the necessary permits and actually start construction, let alone complete it.

Color1 why would you say that Dawn Beach will become a private beach … because of this new development? What does SMH mean?

No beach on the island can be a private beach. All beaches are public.

Yeah, sort of. But if the government allows developers to build all along the beach and doesn't require any specific open beach and no parking, it might as well be a private beach. As far as SMH--So much horse*@t."

I thought SMH was 'shaking my head', but I like Carol's meaning better!
