We arrived on AA from Miami today. Arrived 20 minutes early at 2:45 and sat on the runway way away from the terminal for 15 minutes, not moving. Meanwhile Jet Blue landed and they proceeded immediately to the terminal. It took forever to get off the plane and it was 3:20 before we were on the bus to the terminal. Since I had wheelchair assistance, we bypassed the lines for immigration. That was nice, since the lines outside looked to be pretty long. Once we arrived at baggage claim, we waited for all Jet Blue's luggage to come on the belt before ours. Ours then came out and we were out of the airport at approximately 3:50 PM. Not horrible, since I was able to sit the whole time, but I was thinking the whole time that we would have been out earlier if we hadn't waited for Jet Blue to come in.
Overall, not at all a disaster, but could have been better.

Travel days are always worst part of vacation to me. The rest of your trip is going to be great.

For those who have concerns about standing in long arrival lines at SXM, but arenβt quite ready to concede that they truly need to use the wheelchair service, consider this portable stool. Collapsed, it measures roughly 10x10x2, and expands into a sturdy 18β tall stool that holds over 400 lbs of weight. https://www.amazon.com/Outward-Gear-Upgraded-Collapsible-Telescopic/dp/B0CWPW83ZP/ But if you need it, just get the wheelchair service.

I use the wheelchair service at SXM and love it. But that is a cool stool and quite compact. I might just get one for those times that I want to have something between a cane and a walker and need to stand around for a bit. Thanks for posting that!
