How are the current power outages?

Not with island time.

A pain in the [censored]. Three times yesterday for at least a couple hours. Went off last night while I was asleep and I woke up completely drenched in sweat. We just we went through the morning session.

Tim--Not what I wanted to hear. You are in the Beacon Hill area??

Is this something fairly new. We always stay at oyster bay and I can’t remember any power outages.

I suspect your resort has a generator, if you don't remember any power outages. The current situation is a million times worse than normal, but GEBE has been suffering with load shedding and power outages for years.

In the end Gebe will have updated the old units and the price of electricity will double.

Now there is a fuel leak.

NV GEBE regrets to inform the community of a critical situation that requires immediate attention. Due to an unforeseen fuel leak on one of our engines, we must take that engine offline for urgent repairs. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐱𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝟒 𝐭𝐨 𝟓 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬. During this time, several areas will experience service disruptions. Some areas may be affected longer than usual due to the complexity of the fuel leak.
Please rest assured that our team is working diligently to resolve this issue as quickly and safely as possible. This situation is beyond our control, but we are fully committed to restoring power to all customers expediently.

Beyond their control??? Hardly!! They are responsible for routine maintenance and upgrading the system and replacing aging equipment what which they have not done. So, yes, it was totally in their control and they have just blown it!

Where is this load shedding schedule?

I believe it is on their Facebook page (I don't have Facebook, so can't check). Isn't it really comforting when a company that is having big problems tells you to "rest assured"?

According to SXM or Bust Facebook page, that schedule is not really accurate anyway!
SXM needs to invest in their infrastructure. Desperately.

We arrived today. Supposedly electric was out in Beacon Hill from around 1 PM to sometime between 3 and 4. Thankfully when we arrived at Beachside, the electric was on.
