From what I have heard 3 gunman, who were captured, attempted daylight robbery. during the Poker Run. Since all the proceeds are used for charity, this is sad situation. Hope they throw the book at these folks.

We need mandatory prison sentences for anyone with a gun...whether they use it or not.Guns are not legal in the BVI's but they are everywhere..shame.Great to hear they caught these guys and I hope the news will follow up ( now theres a concept)

According to this report, the gunmen escaped. However, BVI news reports are seldom accurate.

I spoke with one of the organizers last night. He was held up at gunpoint during the robbery and reaffirmed two things:
1.) The robbers got no money (the money is kept in a one-way safe that even the organizers did not have access to at that time for exactly that reason 2.) The robbers were not caught, but they know who they are (they were not wearing masks)
Will continue to update as I hear more. Very sad to hear this happen on our tiny island of Virgin Gorda

Maybe they read that masks don't work. Too soon?

BVI News wrote they were wearing masks. Also the manager, when he refused (or couldn't) open the safe was struck in the head a few times with one of the weapons. He was treated at the clinic. The report was from 05/27.
Go Irish!!

It was actually very scary ! I was there .
Bill has it right . Harris is ok but very shaken as we all were .
The people of BVI and particularly VG are just amazing. Day went off without a hitch thereafter.

How terrifying! Glad everyone going to be physically OK, but I'm sure that is a memory that will never fade.
