I don't really follow AA from JFK, but allegedly the service from JFK on Saturday (only) is new., starting Dec 7.

I don't know why they call it new, I think it's been there every winter. Used to be daily on a much bigger plane.

This is a "new" route. AA had; pre-Covid, several JFK - SXM nonstop options. All were discontinued several years ago. Great to learn AA is bringing this non-stop option back.
