It’s been awhille since we’ve been to the island. It there a direct road from Orient village to the old club o beach without going up to the main road and backdown that pot holed gravel road? I just ate to drive on this island and would like to find a convenient location for easy access to Cedricks beach.

You can drive all the way down the beach behind the beach bars. Although usually that is about as bad as the pot holed road which dead ends at Club O. Kind of same difference.

The beach road from Bikini Beach to Kontiki was graded in early March. It’s really not too bad now. We heard the road behind the beach bars (Orange Fever, Le String, etc) was done very recently, but haven’t seen it so can’t comment.

Yes, the quality of dirt roads that are graded are very much a factor of how recently they were graded.

It is an awful road as many are on SXM. Really painful on an old body and car to travel on. I would maybe say something to Cedric as he has a lot of influence and might be able to do something. But as like so many thing on the island that tourist see as a problem island people just don't see any issue with. So you end up with trashy neighborhoods , junk cars everywhere and awful roads. I guess lump it our leave it. IMO

Frankly, I doubt that Cedric would really WANT that road to be in better shape. To some extent, it probably keeps some looky-loos from venturing down it.

In all our travels there, maybe 10, I can’t believe I never blew a tire on these roads. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Is club fantastico closed, leaving Adam and Eve the only CO option on Orient?

Yes, Club F is closed. I'm having a senior moment and can't remember the name of it, but there is another small naturist resort at Orient. There is also Kazanu, which is in Oyster Pond.

HI, we stayed at Orient for 3 wks this year starting late March.
The beach road is OK to drive.
The back road into Orient is not great but has been worse. We took it one day and that was enough.
Note the big tour buses come in the back way on their way to Bikini as do the various gator tours.
