Have those huge rocks been removed...? We are arriving on the island in 2 weeks & just wondering if they're still there. ..? Also, how accurate is the cruise schedule. Want to avoid Phillipsburg when they are in.
Thanks to all for answering my posts. .
2 weeks today to Paradise. ..!

Not sure which rocks you're referring to, as Maho always has lots of rocks around?
Regarding the cruise schedule, the best bet is to go to the SXM Port Schedule, rather than ours.. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Smile.gif" alt="" />

The huge rocks are always there in order to protect the roadway in heavy seas. Sometimes they are covered by sand, sometimes not.

Take a look at this webcam www.sunsetsxm.com and you will see the condition of Maho Beach each day.

I have always been amazed at how, on one visit, the "beach" would be total huge rocks with very minimal (if any) sand..just a cement wall and boulders..and on a return visit there would be a nice beach with people laying out on chairs...
It is a dramatic difference....

In mid-December there was water over the road one day and a beach the next.

......and the biggest surprise to me is that this transformation can actually take place in a twenty-four hour timespan and possibly even less. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

It is totally amazing how quickly the beach disappears and then reappears on Maho. Staying at LaPlage, we have seen it come and go so quickly. One large beautiful beach one day....to no beach and just rocks the next. Few years back, the bottom of the steps at LaPlage were probably at least six to seven feet in the air....since the beach was wiped out. Within a day or two....the beach went from nothing...to the sand up to the second or third step!!!! That's why i always get a good laugh at people inquiring here about ''current'' beach conditions, because they are going to be on the island in a few weeks to few months. LOL the majesty of ''mother nature''.

Off subject, but I just saw a 757 land. First time that I've seen that on the webcam.
