Other than your personal iPod playlist, what do yall like to listen to on the boat. I remember we used to like ZROD and a couple other stations that I can’t remember right now. What’s good these days for when you’re in the car or out on the boat? Do any of the stations stream, a few used to, but they seemed to shut down a few years ago.

In the 80s and 90s, it was ZBVI with the weather every hour on the half hour delivered by David Jones
The Caribbean Weather Man. Always signed off: Whether you do or whether you don’t, often depends on the weather. David could usually be found at the end bar stool at Village Cay¡k

I believe the ZBVI gig originated in the second half of the 90s. Before ZBVI, David ran an SSB weather net as he cruised the Caribbean with his wife and toddler daughter aboard Misstine. I first encountered him in the summer of '96 somewhere in Grenada or the Venezuelan islands.

He also published "The Concise Guide to Caribbean Weather". The 2nd edition lists Bob Nock (AKA Fat Hog Bob, RIP) as a co-author.

He did a great job holding down that barstool at Village Cay.

My favorite is CBN 90.9. I love the music they play. Great selection of Calypso, Reggae and “island” music. I switch off when they have a talk program, or even worse, a cricket match. If it is cold and snowy where you live, like it is in Denver this April morning, you can stream online from this link. Guaranteed to bring a smile.
