Are Nigel and other vendors serving food & drink in Smuggler’s Cove? Is there a portapotty or two today? We missed Miss Patricia when she and other vendors were removed years ago…Is she back, or still at another location? Thanks!
And we recently learned that Norwegian Cruise Line (and possibly another line) is providing Jeep excursions to Smuggler’s Cove. The Jeeps are picked up at Nanny Cay, the guests drive to SC where they spend an unspecified amount of time, then to Carrot Bay, then up to SkyWorld. Only a 4.5 hr excursion so they aren’t there too long. And the excursion description states there are no restrooms at SC, so it sounds like the beach has not been developed to receive hundreds of day visitors…yet… Correct? 🤞🙈

Patricia and Nigel are both there..but I say avoid Nigel and enjoy a great time with Patricia and her family. They have a porta "loo" behind their place. That Jeep "Safari" just doodles along and drives slooowly and stops along the north shore. Good food and vibes at Patricia's but watch for the burger stealing chickens! ( Right Laura??)

Ha! Malcolm, that rude chicken stole my delicious fish taco!!
So I was sitting in a low lounge chair and had my "taco in paradise" in my hand with just a mere bite out of it when out of nowhere, on my port side aft like a velociraptor from Jurassic Park, this high speed chicken snatched my precious taco and headed for the hills! Later, Patricia's partner said he would make sure that chicken was on the menu the next day LOL I think he was joking to make me feel better, or maybe not haha, but either way Patricia's is the spot!! and for sure BOLO for velocichickens!

Meant to thank you Mal for the update! 👏
Yes we’ve been robbed by these sky pirates there and on other beaches…They are indeed quick and silent!

in the still image on Google maps, I see a fairly large cat anchored in smugglers Cove. Has anybody taken a large cat in there before for the day or the night? Or, is the cut in the reef too tight for a larger cat? It seems aggressive, but it also seems like a great place to visit.

Pulled up Google maps and could see that cat as well. The weather would have to be calm and settled and absolutely no N swell for that to be tenable, I would think.
Several years ago, we watched a small mono drop into the cove through the surf line, anchor, and then they literally surfed into shore on their dinghy. There was a young couple on the boat. They were clearly quite experienced sailors and boaters. The mono was rocking pretty wildly at anchor, but they clearly knew what they were doing. Stayed for probably a burger and a beer and they left after about an hour or so.
As an aside, checking google maps got me to zoom in on Patricia's and start checking out the photos of her food and the beach, and wow did that just rev up my excitement! We're wheels up a week from tomorrow morning. Can't wait and at the same time so much to do and don't want it to come and go too fast!

I would encourage all those going to Patricia's to try her potato salad..and tip well! Her prices for everything are so reasonable that we'd all love to see her survive..and thrive ( and Nigel,at times, does not make their life easy!).BTW her husband's name is Bush and he's usually the smiling, talented chef..

We haven’t been back in awhile but friends are visiting and asked if Patricia can call them a taxi if they needed that. Can anyone answer that?
I noted they could have a driver drop them and return, and if possible pay upon their return. But there’s the concern they’d end up walking to the LB resort or even Sebastian’s to get a taxi.
Any feedback on Patricia being able to call a driver for them? Cell service?

Dont know if she can do that but a driver will probably be happy to drop them off and pick them up..or they start walking and hitch a ride..I've given many a hot walker a ride! Merlise taxi out of Long Bay would be my choice..

We spent a nice morning at Smugglers about a month ago. The beach is very pretty. Unfortunately we didn’t try the food. We took a taxi to/from Sopers Hole where we spent the night on our charter boat (a north swell was running). The taxi was very helpful and came back for us exactly at the time we agreed.
Regardless of the north swell, Smugglers was redlined by our charter company (BVIYC). I did read in the book “A sail of two idiots” that they anchored their private cat in the bay for several days while visiting family ashore.
