We were looking forward to going to Vesna Taverna and finally
made it there tonight.
It was wonderful as always. The mussels for my husband and duck
for me
Coconut custard pie was incredible too.
A very enjoyable evening.

The island seems to be getting quiet.
It was quiet this afternoon at Friars also.
The weather still had a few black clouds, but seems to
be getting less.

I took Junior there a couple of years ago and he said his fish pot meal was the best he had ever had. He then went back with his wife.

Carol, I think their breakfast is so much better than Reveil St Martin.
The waitress in the morning, Sally is an absolute HOOT! She is so funny!

lcote--no one in the world could convince me that their breakfast is better than Reveil. Their combination of different breakfasts and their impressive fruits blow me away. I think you are partial to eggs benedict? I could really take or leave that.

JD--interesting how locals are often unfamiliar with places on island.

I would highly recommend you give it a try. I would not go on a Saturday unless you really like Greek food as their Saturday menu selection centers around it.

Couldn't agree with you more. Reveil Matin's breakfast is in a league of their own. Hands down.

I noted this before on a post but on our first visit with a large group it was Saturday night which is Greek Night. Not really a Greek food lover others were ordering it so we went with it, not realizing that we could have ordered from the regular menu and don't recall seeing the regular menu that evening. We didn't go back until this last trip and went because we thought it was only Greek Food, glad we finally did. Dinner there was great, closed the place down talking to Vesna. Don't recall what MJ had but I split a big tomahawk steak with Jeff which was fantastic. Went back for lunch and MJ had a wrap that she still raves about and I had the burger which was one of the best on island. Add Sally (fn hilarious) chatting away and at times sitting with us and wow what a great last lunch on island, great food and entertainment.

Sad we wasted years not going there but certainly will on our next trips. Not usually breakfast diners on island but will try that also on the next trip.

I prefer the Isle seat

I guess we should try it sometime. As far as breakfast, we generally go out to eat BK only once on island, and save that for Reveil Matin. Generally we just do some coffee and a croissant or quiche, etc., at 'home' at Beachside.

Todd--We have gotten to the point where we are fine with lunch spoiling our dinner. We often go out for a big, late lunch on the beach, and then have something very simple, or leftovers for dinner. We go to bed very much earlier than we used to, in the old days..

Junior is usually somewhat familiar with many places but had never been to Vesna. I have never had breakfast there but I would also think Reveil Martin/Kereen would be hard to beat. Quantity and quality are off the charts. If I were more of a breakfast person, I would try Vensa but I am usually good for 2 breakfasts (Chesterfield's and Reveil Martin) and that is it for me.
