I’m traveling with carryon only. I have prescription medication in a clearly marked vial (with my name, etc) and I will be bringing a few syringes needed to inject the med. I’m sure many others have had this scenario . Will the syringes be an issue with TSA.? Last time I packed them in checked luggage. Thanks!

Give it a try. Worst thing that could happen is they take the needles and you'll have to buy them on island.

TSA says they have to be declared, if you are carrying them onboard the plane.
"Unused syringes are allowed when accompanied by injectable medication. You must declare these items to security officers at the checkpoint for inspection. We recommend, but do not require, that your medications be labeled to facilitate the security process."

No problem. I tried to post a link and somehow it wouldn't work, but that is a copy and paste from their website.

I think Carol, via the TSA website cleared this up. It is always better to check the actual source versus asking a random stranger on the internet or social media.
With all due respect to SXMScubaman, I am personally not a fan of this "give it a try" thing as it could lead to other difficulties. Do it "by the book" when in doubt. I would also suggest printing what the TSA indicates in this matter in case an agent may not be up to speed.
