Today was a relaxing day on Orient. Mostly sunny with a short amount of mid afternoon cloud coverage . Maybe 30 minutes long but whose counting?

We spent the day at LaPlaya. It was a fairly quiet day, no water sports activities we saw in our area and a minimal amount of beach sellers.

The beachfront was racked when we arrived before 9 am. Water was calm, and clear with an initial slight chill. Some clumps of sargassum managed to float down our way about 11am but quickly came ashore. Water was clear again until we left which was shortly before 4 pm.

We dined on the patio in the shade. The sushi and sashimi is a big reason we go there as well as service.

An impressive presentation of sashimi and sushi was incredibly fresh as well as delectable. A wasabi cream, sriracha mayo, sweet chili and ponzu sauce condiments were served with our platter. Sweet soy, low sodium and regular soy was on the table.

The wooden round platter spins easily so if you order a lot like we did it’s easier to pick up your selections. Seaweed salad as well as a spring mixed green salad is included.

We shared a sᴘɪᴄʏ sᴀʟᴍᴏɴ ᴛᴀʀᴛᴀʀ ᴍᴀᴋɪ ɪɴ ᴛᴇᴍᴘᴜʀᴀ, ᴛᴏᴘᴘɪɴɢ ᴄʀᴀʙsᴛɪᴄᴋ ᴡɪᴛʜ sᴘɪᴄʏ ᴍᴀʏᴏ.
A sᴀsʜɪᴍɪ ᴅᴇʟᴜxᴇ ( 𝟸𝟶ᴘᴄs)
𝟻 ᴛᴜɴᴀ, 𝟻 sᴀʟᴍᴏɴ, 𝟺 ᴍᴀʜɪ, 𝟺 ʀᴇᴅsɴᴀᴘᴘᴇʀ, 𝟸 sᴜʀɪᴍɪ and 2 ᴛᴜɴᴀ ɴɪɢɪʀɪ .

Don’t judge us because the platter was quite full. In our defense it was the only meal of our day.

A short stay at Yacht Club before heading back to BSV. We were wiped out from sun and water so we called it a day.

Carol , for years I couldn’t get him off the beach to eat lunch. He would want to dine on the beach loungers. I prefer a more comfortable dining experience to savor my meal. Glad he now joins me off the beach to eat

Louise--yes, I totally get where you are coming from. I dislike eating on the beach, unless it's something really casual, like Rosie's ribs!! thumbsup

I would much rather have a burger on the beach with my toes in the sand. Wife not so much.

We were there for a week a couple of weeks ago. Ready to go back. 3 days we enjoyed sushi at LaPlaya, with two of those lunches up in the restaurant and another at the loungers. Lunches were awesome in both food quality and location. And, Scuba, if you are lucky enough to score one, some of the tables in the restaurant are in the sand.( much like a few tables at Orange Fever) Best of both worlds. Enjoy Louise and David! Thanks for letting us vacation vicariously thru you.

That looks fantastic and it sounds like a great day. We certainly fell in love with La Playa on our last trip and I cannot imagine a future trip without out it. Looking forward to your upcoming reports.

We used to go to La Playa and Bikini before Irma hit and now prefer Orange Fever for food and loungers.
