I’m posting from my iPhone, as I cannot login on my laptop using bing or DuckDuckGo nor my desktop. Any ideas , and continuing to use the small screen is not an option,

When I hit login I don’t get taken to a login screen.

Merci beaucoup.

I know enough to be dangerous. Is the laptop with you or aare you trying to login remotely?

Try a reboot on your laptop and desktop. Then when they ask for password check keep me logged in before you put in password.

Are you locked out of your desktop? I am assuming windows.... If so do a reboot of you laptop and login as normal. If this is the first time logging in on the island this need to reset caches and other nerdy things...and the laptop will hopefully find its place in the world.

I essentially reboot daily for other reasons so that doesn’t work. I can get to the screen that says login, and when I click it I get back to that screen.

Do a full power down. Then power up.

Does the log in screen ask for both your username and password? Both are case sensitive and won't accept logging in if not correct. Some have a default to lock you out after 3 incorrect tries for 24 hours.

Long shot... use key board only when login screen appears. Press enter. The login box should appear. Enter you pin/ password. Hit enter.

My login screen never appears. I get the option to register or login, and when I click login, I do not get taken to the login screen. I get the same screen to register or login. I guess I’ll just try loading any updates, sleep on it, collect any lottery winnings that I didn’t buy tickets for. And consult my witch doctor. I do appreciate the help , though.

I think you need to clear all of your browser cookies. The procedure is different depending upon which browser you have, but you can google that.

Take a photo with your phone showing the startup screen, before you do anything

Clearing cookies is a no go, he can't login so the OS isn't loading, let alone getting access to a browser

@bdeeley - I think from the original post it is indeed the browser, and not the login to OS. So clearing cookies is most likely going to help. Or, alternatively, @Cruzer could try a private browser session, as that doesn't use stored cookies.

I don't think it's a browser issue since he never gets that far....he cannot log into his device that would get him to a browser choice

Who knows, he mentions a browser, a search engine and a desktop which implies an OS. Maybe with an image we would know more. Is it, Mac, Windows or chrome? Too little information.

Success! After doing a slew of actions, like disabling my security software, changing my ISP's DNS to a public one, and a few other things, as well as those suggested here, I connected my laptop to my Iphone's hotspot to see if maybe this was related to my ISP. And it is as I connected and signed in.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Lemme see if I understand. When you say "logging in" are you logging into Windows or your internet/ISP? Are you using a VPN to connect back to your home ISP.

Logging into TTOL. I've done both VPN and non-VPN.

That happens to me a lot when logging in to TTOL. It's why I don't post much.
