To you sailors out there, we met a couple from Scotland who had been at sea 7 months touring islands. They said docking fee in Marigot went up to $600. so you'll see more both at mornings.
They said SXM was their 4th visit and they love it best except that waters & winds make leaving terrible.

"so you'll see more both at mornings" I don't understand what you are saying. Are some words not correct?

I think she's saying more boats at mooring away from docking to avoid fee.

This story is bogus. Docking at Marigot for $600 per night is only going to happen if you have a 200 foot boat, or perhaps a 150 footer if you don't get a discount and use a T-Dock. Typical is about 3€ per foot plus power and water.

And that is how rumors get started. Glad you straightened it out.

Well, I believed the man with the "large boat" telling me this info and thought I'd pass it along so others could expect the increase since he said it had increased from last year for him.
I should have just shut my mouth and not posted.

Not a problem @RonDon - better that it gets clarified up front. The prices have increased, and the mooring ball situation in Marigot is bugging most cruisers. The dockage situation in Marigot is limited and the rebuild after Irma is slower than the airport.

"so others could expect the increase since he said it had increased from last year for him." What hasn't increased this last year. Sign of the times and world economy and people should expect price increases.
