The balance of the group I was with departed SXM yesterday on Delta to ATL. They took a taxi from the Atrium to the airport, with one of them requiring wheelchair assistance. I was told the total time from when the taxi picked them up to the arrival at Gate A4 (with wheelchair assist) was 45 minutes. Pretty impressive! They said the wheelchair assistant was very good and got all of the group through very quickly. Gate A4 used a jetway. They were delayed leaving SXM by about 45 minutes. I was watching the plane for some of the time, both live video and FlightAware, and it appears they were delayed due to a lot of other inbound and outbound traffic.
Two of them had wheelchair assistance in ATL, which got them through quickly but due to the location of the gate leaving ATL and the delay leaving SXM, the plane was boarding as they got the the gate. Had they not had wheelchair assistance (one had Global Entry but stayed with the others), they likely would not have made the connection.
Hopefully this is a sign that departures from SXM are going better. I know some on here use wheelchair assistance in SXM, as you have all stated, it seems to work great and did so in this case as well.
