I've been trying for 4 hours to phone Roma's for reservations for 4 tomorrow and all I get is their answering machine. I left a message for reservations for 4 tomorrow at 6pm and have yet to receive a peep from them. What's with that?
Problem solved. My wife went through the SBR switch board to have them make the call and Roma answered. When my wife asked why would they not answer the calls when made from their website the answer was "We don't answer the phone when we're busy? Do they know that it's a local call coming from the hotel? That's BS. Anyways RonDon we have a reservation at 6pm tomorrow.

I have found that a lot of business on SXM just don't answer the phone....busy or not. I have even called big hotels, hospital , Dr offices etc ....they don't answer. And forget about them answering the phone if you call many Gov phone numbers. No urgency for anything work related. IMO
Glad you got it resolved. We went lastt year and had reservations but someone else made them. We are hoping to get back but the days are running short. We really enjoyed our meals there.
I tried calling a couple of places for reservations and experienced the same, but then a couple of other places answered promptly.
We tried to use the casino valet for Jax last week and we were told they do not start valet service until 7:00pm. We have done this in the past, gone to Jax and then the casino since we used their valet but last week we parked in the garage since we were there prior to 7:00pm.
We had a very bad experience trying to use the Casino valet for our Roma reservation. They didn't want to do it then said, just park over there. Then during dinner they came over and threatened to have our car towed. Never again.
Don't know if the Roma site uses Open Table, but here's what happens to us when trying to access information on their site. My wife's phone is on Airplane Mode, so she only has access to the internet via wifi, mostly SBR wifi. My phone is not on Airplane Mode, and wifi is turned off because SBR wifi comes up as not secure, so to be cautious, I use cell towers. In particular, right now I'm on Chippies. Now, yesterday, I would Google Roma's Restaurant SXM and get this screenshot. If I clicked on Find a Table or Menu, I would get this screenshot. Then I found out that if I clicked on the call button, they wouldn't answer the phone. Frustrating.
Whenever we go to Maho which is often we use the Sonesta parking garage. It never has cost me more than $5, and your car is in the shade, priceless. Whether it's visiting friends at La Terrasse or shopping at my wife's favorite jewelry store (J.N. Jewelers) Carol we use Sonesta parking .
I remember you having issues. We usually go to the casino first, just for a bit, and then head into Roma and then the casino again after our meal. Sadly, parking is an issue in many places and more building will just lead to more cars and more parking issues. The parking garage behind Jax is easy to use.
I don't think we asked about comping the parking either at Jax, but thought maybe you did.
So, not to ask a stupid question, but the combined seating for Roma and Mr. Chow (is that the name of it??), anyway, do you need a reservation for that? We won't be going until June anyway, but probably wouldn't need one then regardless, but thought I'd check. It gives more options, to be able to dine off either menu.
I think the combined seating is as the bar, but I may be wrong. Usually (at) the bar seating is never reserved but I do know of one place that does it near home.
Yes Roma uses Open Table. Have been using it for a year. You down load the app. There are several restaurants on the island that use “Open Table”. Roma, Mr Chow. Jax, Palapa Grill and LaRosa to name a few. Sometime the app works while using a VPN, other times it doesn’t. You can use the app on WiFi or without. I now have T Mobile and there is no additional charge for anything so I use my phone as if I’m home - but sign into WiFi when available to save data. TTOL comes up as “not secure” so really not an issue App is super simple to use. Use it in the USA all the time and on island.
What you screen shot looks like just a “Google” search.

You can reserve bar seating in advance. Also have done that via the app
Kim--OK thanks. As JD said, usually bar seating at most restaurants does not require a reservation.
Another stupid question, for those of us that are "vertically challenged", is the bar seating really tall? I have trouble climbing up on really tall bar stools (even if I haven't been drinking...)..
Yes - unfortunately. Bar height. At bar and the 3 tables. And yes usually first come first serve. But they do allow it. When I book via open table I always write in the comments requesting in the bar to eat off both menus.
