The other day we noticed from our balcony across Simpson Bay a few horses over there. So on yesterday's beach walk we found their hiding spot. They were under the trees in the shade at the end of Mary Boon property. On our way back the owner had the 3 of them out for a beach walk. So I talked to Jeramie, the owner and he told us that it's $40 for a half hour.

Carol - A more accurate location of the beached sailboat is that it's infront of the 3rd property down from The Horny Toad going towards the airport.

Interesting. I wonder where they are permanently stabled, as I can't imagine they are there overnight.

There have been horses there for years. Never seen them ridden, except by the owner.

We were right there by those trees . Horses were behind us. Two guys brought them in. We only saw 2 people in two days who were riding them.
The bigger issue is the pile of crap that was left behind them. We had to move father down the beach next day because of the land mines left in the sand.

No, not cool, it was in fact warm when one lady who was walking the beach stepped into it, lol! They just covered the poop with the sand….literally turned it into a land mine!

There are no stables. Just trees for shade.

I've seen people walking their dogs and clean up after they do their thing. THIS??? This is just gross!! God forbid one of these drops a pile in front of BSV, I will remind them to clean it up and not just cover it in the sand as one person tried to do with there dog!! Isn't there plenty of mountains and trails for these people???

While not pleasant - horse poop is basically undigested plant parts and doesn’t have the smell like dogs do.. It’s “allowed” to be left on trails etc because it’s a fertilizer, birds eat it and it doesn’t have the bacteria dog and human poop does. But I would hope the owner would
Make the effort to clean up or bury it in front of the resorts. But those horses have been on that beach as long as I can remember. Sometime hanging out along the fence by the airport.

Kim I was about to say the same. Horse poop also dries very very quickly in the heat and becomes fertilizer and the undigested seeds become bird food.

Kim--interesting perspective regarding poop. One learns something every day! duh I haven't stayed at Mary's Boon for a long time, or in that area, but I do not ever remember seeing those horses there.

Doesn't seem like any real organized type of business and I highly doubt the owner of that lot is aware of that's going on it will be allowed to continue. Lots of nice condo's and Hotels in that area and Sooner or later someone will complain to Gov and that will be that. My simple assumption is just some local guys trying to make a few bucks.

Since I like riding horses, I guess I'm the only one who will like having that option.
