After a sleepless night on Saturday, a slightly delayed flight on Sunday and the water bottle incident, I settled in and am getting back to doing SXM things. I am sharing a 3 bedroom penthouse at The Atrium with friends who I have known for a long time. Dinner last night was at Mark's Place, good and reasonable as usual. Rib dinners, pan-fried group and garlic shrimp pasta were the entrees. Add in some garlic bread, 2 bottles of wine and a couple of other drinks we were at $35 per person including the non-added service charge. The menu indicates a service charge but I have found it to not be added if they know you as a local or a somewhat regular visitor. We tipped more than what the SC would have been and most had leftovers.
Rain overnight and this morning before clearing. We spent several hours at Mullet Bay, renting loungers from Chester (he says hello to pat and John) on what turned out to be a very busy day. At least 4 rows of chairs and while they were close, it was not as tight as I have seen it in the past. Lunch was at Rosie's and they were doing a brisk business as well. A short ride around Cupecoy, Maho Beach (packed with 5 ships in port) and some of the back streets in Simpson Bay to show a first-timer around a little and back to The Atrium. I ran into a couple of old TTOL acquaintances from Boston while at Rosie's and had a nice chat with them.
Not sure on dinner plans tonight as I am hoping to catch up with a few other long-time TTOL friends prior to them leaving in a few days.
The island is pretty green, at least the gold course is, and looks good.

Surprised there are five ships in port on a Monday! Mark's Place and then Mullet --sounds like you're off to a good start! Enjoy!

Sounds like a good day so just think of this as the day your trip really started. And please, tell Chester we say hello right back. Have you run into anyone else I might be familiar with?
Respectfully,
pat

Good that you're off to a great start. Enjoy the rest. Tough to beat Mark's.
