Well, cr*p. It appears that Miami Park N Fly is being taken over. This is NOT good news. They did a great job. We used to use Miami Fast Park. They were great, and then they got bought out. Now these guys. What is it about, when you find someone that does a good job, they go out of business???????
Anyone have experience with The Parking Spot??

So, answering my own question, definitely NOT a good thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These people charge EIGHTEEN DOLLARS A DAY. I was getting Park N Fly for usually around $12 a day. And they charge $5.95 just to make a reservation! Ridiculous. Somehow I had several free days through Park N Fly, so I made this reservation for June. But I will be looking for another place to park next time.

Let me know who you decide to go with if you would, please. I need to park from May 30-June 14....

I'm going with the new people for June, just because of the free days. I will look around to see what else I can find. Perhaps think about spending the night somewhere in future.

Should really check any car rental company that is nearby your home to do a one way rental.
Pick it up near your home and drive to airport and drop it off, usually can get a car for ~$80-100 (can even pick up the night before if an early flight).
Sometimes much easier and cheaper than parking at the airport, especially if staying for an extended duration.

erb- Nearest car rental to here is about 40 minutes. Doesn't seem to make sense to me. We usually spend about $150-$200 for 10-12 days parking.

Check out EB Hotel Miami...stayed a few times now(3 or 4) when I see the Doc early morning at Jackson Memorial, excellent, covered parking, free ride to and from airport and out of season should get well under 200 a night, maybe a few nights up to 7 free, can't remember what I last read, and then about $12.00 a day. Read the reviews from trip advisor and you will see what I mean. Could be worth your while and a nice rest, plus consider coming back and staying the night, so more refreshed.

bran--I might check it out, thanks. Is the parking SECURED? I have read tales of peoples' vehicles being stolen or stripped for parts at some Miami hotels, and the hotel took ZERO responsibility for it.

Ultra modern and I presume secured, but as you know, trouble can happen anywhere, but it's attached to the hotel and it's covered with I presume cameras. Just now at my age, starting to do things properly, and get the rest in with less stress and rushing about. The rooms are great, bar, and restaurant excellent. Not the cheapest, but also the best value for money I have seen in a long while for the facilities.

OK, the question re 'secured' is, can someone just drive up and get in your car, do whatever magic they do to steal the car and drive away? The cars that were stolen or vandalized at other hotels were on lots that had no gates, fences, etc.

That is something you would have to ask the Hotel directly...

Check with your airport if they have handicap parking. In Nashville Tn if you have a handicap placard you get to park for free if you fill out their paperwork and get approved.

DannynGinger--no, I don't have handicapped parking sticker. Of course, around here I see them all the time--some 25 year old guy by himself, in perfect health, driving a pickup truck, jacked up to the hilt! But I digress..
pasnyder--will check it out.

Guess I will soon learn. Made The Parking Spot reservation for May 29-June 14 @ $14.40 a day covered parking. Question? If you are staying at a local airport hotel before flying out the next day, will parking shuttle take you there or just to MIA? Thanks...

panman--well, that's interesting, when I made a reservation the other day, it was $18 a day, after my 'free days'. You would need to ask the hotel that question, but my guess would be a resounding no.

Carol....have you parked at the Marriott before in Miami? This year we are not staying over at a hotel before we leave. Marriott is secured....gated and fenced....but haven't booked it yet. We leave in three weeks, so will have to decide. We are also considering Uber/Lyft this year. Seems about the same price for them as parking will run for 22 days. This way we don't have to worry about any car safety, and save on gas. LOL

Only stayed at a couple of fleabag hotels in Miami before ourselves. Uber is not an option for us,

Carol, EB Hotel is a great hotel, but their parking is NOT secured. While in the Turks and Caicos my Ford F250 4WD Turbo Diesel was stolen from their parking garage in 2022. We live in central Florida. I now rent a car in Sarasota, drop it off at MIA and do the reverse on the way home. My truck was never recovered and the Miami police department was horrible to deal with!
