Wow...heading in on 3/23, Saturday...sounds like time consuming, busy at airport! Was going to check 1 larger bag since 2 week stay and do want to pack my sunscreen, bug repellant, larger toiletries, frozen meat, etc., but what I read...can take a looong time to get! Any advice? Oh well!

Carry-on only or be prepared for potentially a long airport wait at baggage claim.

I wouldn't worry about it. Pack what you'll need, check it and go with the flow.

Change into some island clothes on the plane - or making connections. You may have along wait outside, and the AC isn't that great dealing with the crowds

singbeach--I can't personally imagine NOT checking a bag, so we will. Again, as far as putting meat in a checked bag, hopefully you don't have a connection. Stuff happens.
