Wanted to go to see the festivities but after getting caught up in an almost mob like atmosphere on Saturday when trying to go to the market, we are somewhat a little afraid. Anyone with better local knowledge that can advise us?

I think they were finishing a celebration but we were stuck in traffic and it felt a little too rowdy as they disbanded

We don't arrive on the island till Thursday, but stay in GC and have attended the festival quite a few times, never felt unsafe .
