Last trip down the conditions were pretty rough for a visit to The Baths by boat, so we went on up to Leverick and taxied down to The Baths. We much preferred it over going by boat.
This next trip we will do it again, but I'm debating between renting a vehicle and getting a taxi. What do you prefer?
Any suggestions on what to do, or where to eat along the way?

We always rent a car from Leverick. You can hit the Baths and the Copper Mine, backtrack for a drink (or 2) at Mermaids and eat at Hog Heaven.
We usually have the car overnight and I would suggest Coco Maya for dinner. If not, you can't go wrong with the food at Leverick.

Rent a car. While not cheap, you can come and go when YOU feel like it.

And some of those "taxis" aren't really that safe (riding on a bench in the back of a half ton with no roll bar or seat belts)

Rent a car - if I can drive on VG, anyone can. You can stop at several nice spots - hit Savannah Bay on your way - stunning.....

Taxis are $16 per person each way to the Baths and back. Car Rentals start at $65 per 24hrs.

Rent a car at Leverick. It gives you the flexibility to make a few stops. The Copper Mine is worth a few photos. You can also reprovision on the way back to Leverick.

Take your cruising permit for entry to The Baths.

This is a total "no`brainer". Rent a car. Just call ahead and Nick and his crew will have it ready to roll. And DO visit all the places noted above. Dinner on the beach at Coco Maya is a must and George Sears, chef at Leverick "upstairs" is a genius. Lobster sushi is incredible. Can't miss Hog Heaven. We usually take a slip for two nights just to insure we don't miss these stops. Mad Dog sandwiches are killer at the Baths. Chez Bamboo is delicious. Thank God Geogio's is closed or we would have to spend four days at the Leverick dock. Rumor has it that Geogio will be back cooking soon somewhere in the BVI. Stay tuned. (or has that already happened?).
