A bit of reasearch found that TSA does not give a hoot about cannibis and does not search for it...BUT it is against SXM law to posess any form of it. SOoooooo...I guess checked baggage and maybe you won't get screened on arrival ...maybe

When you travel with gummies I think it is best to put them in carry on. US TSA doesn't care about cannabis, they are looking for explosives, or weapons etc. however if it is discovered it will be discarded at best. I have traveled with it on occasion but usually leave it at home. I do have a medical card but that doesn't matter really to TSA. I have used an old pack of candy to put it in or kept them in my gummy vitamin bottle. So while I think you would have no problem whatsoever, they are still technically illegal and could be confiscated.

Your last sentence is the issue. Dogs can smell it and there have been checks upon leaving the airport. It is still illegal in Sxm. (Which is kind of funny - but laws are laws). And I wouldn’t chance it and landing in jail.

I agree with Kim. I wanted to take mine to SXM because I use it for sleep. I decided not to chance it.

I know somebody who successfully brought gummies to the island early last year. He uses them for sleep, and he packed them in carry-on luggage.
No problems with TSA, no issue at PJIA, and no problems bringing a few "leftovers" home.
Just to be safe, this person repackaging these items into a more legitimate container (such as a gummy vitamin bottle) for travel.

Bill--sorry, if it is illegal in SXM, the fact that someone was able to sneak them in means nothing.

Why are we counselling people here on how to commit what is likely an illegal act? Seems a bit irresponsible to me and not what I would expect from this site.
