"Increase in dengue cases; circulation of flu and Covid-19
A significant increase in dengue fever cases has been reported between December 2 and 16 on the Dutch side of the island. There are also cases on the French side.
Cases of young children with dengue presenting with symptoms of diarrhea or vomiting have also been recorded. Parents should be extra vigilant for these potential symptoms and consult their general practitioner should their child(ren) present with such symptoms.
Additionally, viral respiratory illnesses (Influenza A, Respiratory Syncytial Virus Infection RSV and COVID-19) are circulating in the community. It is possible to have a respiratory infection and dengue at the same time.
The observed dengue numbers are across several districts and all age categories.
Dengue can become a life-threatening illness. It is crucial for everyone to be aware of the symptoms and take precautions to prevent further mosquito breeding and transmission of mosquito-borne diseases.
To report a mosquito nuisance or request assistance on the Dutch side, contact Collective Preventive Services (CPS) vector control team via 520-4161, 542-1222/1570, or 914; or by email vector-control@sintmaartengov.org with supporting pictures and contact information.

This was declared an epidemic in mid November at which time I posted it and at the time was dismissed by Mr know it all for not providing numbers. Now we have this. Where are the numbers?

Don’t you know that a Dengue problem on the French side is irrelevant on the Dutch side? Those mosquitos don’t cross the border, lol.

I always like to trust a Government announcement rather than hearsay. 😉
