Looks like WestJet 2653 was cancelled yesterday. Does anybody have any information on the situation?

Don't know why WestJet 2653 was canceled but something is going on. WestJet usually flies on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. According to Flightradar24 there is a WestJet 8975 arriving from YYZ at 3:31 today (Friday) and WestJet 4153 leaving at 4:45 today. Now the strange one is WestJet 8984 leaving tomorrow morning (Saturday) at 8am, estimated departure at 7am??? Maybe a mechanical issue yesterday and everybody on the cancelled flight yesterday got an extra day or two on the island.

I read it was a hydraulic leak.

WestJet will be flying this season on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Unlike the previous years they have added Friday. Pretty sure I saw WestJet land yesterday flight 2652 pretty much on time. Maybe the pilots and crew liked it so much here they did not want to leave. 😃

We heard it was a hydraulic leak too. I just talked to a couple on Orient Beach that were on the Westjet flight from Toronto yesterday. They said when they landed it sounded really “screechy” but didn’t think anything was wrong. Better safe than sorry- hope the outbound passengers get home soon.
