Our “St Maarten Office” was a hive of activity with hubby sorting out a difficult delivery issue and lots of meetings for me on an upcoming Media Campaign. But when we finally got to the beach it was awesome.

The weather hasn’t been the best but this day was glorious. For Pat and all the other Saba lovers- she’s been hard to see the last few days but I’m happy to report the cloudy shroud has lifted and Saba is back. The day we got here we ran into a lady at our hotel who said her flight to Saba had been cancelled. The pilot told her, “If I can’t see the island from St. Maarten, I’m not flying to it!” Makes sense to me. So she hunkered down for the night with her little dog enjoying dinner and happy to have a room for the night. I’m sure she’s on Saba now.

We drove to Maho to catch a nice sunset and had a Driftwood Rum Punch for two. Those suckers pack a punch- I’m sure many of you know what I mean. LOL

Then it was off to Pineapple Pete for dinner. I wasn’t hungry but I LOVE Pierre’s BBQ sauce. A small plate of chicken wings drenched the savoury, sticky BBQ sauce did the trick for me while hubby had the Lobster Thermidor and shrimp.

We drove up to the Red Piano afterwards and ran into new parking lot gates and a surly security guard. It’s 3 bucks an hour now which is fine but feeling tired we decided to turn around and head home. The St Maarten office is officially closed for the weekend - we’re ready for some all day fun!

We encountered the same surly security guard at the parking lot back in March. We used other terms to describe him and his demeanor.

Thanks for the report. So lovely to be able to see Saba. Interesting, the lady was able to stay at Mary's Boon with a dog? Most places on the Dutch side aren't very pet friendly.

There are lots of dogs at Mary’s Boon- they have some pet friendly rooms. We have a golden retriever and it would be too hot for him. Our rescue dog from Isla Mujeres would be fine but we don’t want to split them up. Wr miss them so much.
