Going to try a different manner of posting here……

Friday 11/03 - Once again…..Beautiful wake-up to the streaming sun and crashing waves. Have only personally seen two swimmers in the ocean here at BSV since we arrived. We had a brief but torrential downpour in the wee hours but by wake up time you’d never know it but for the still prominent flooding coming in to BSV along White Sands Road.
Coffee and light breakfast in our villa and then off to say Sayonara to a departing friend and then more errands. And who did we run into but Jeannie of ShopnDrop doing her - what else - grocery shopping.
Heard from our maid we missed a beach walker yesterday who was actually looking for us. Brian, maybe?

Edited to add:
And as I sit here looking out at the ocean I’m totally mesmerized in wave watching as they roll in and crash on the sand. Our villa is on the end of the property close to the pool and the waves are coming right up to the foundation and stairs. It’s music to my ears and I can’t get enough of it, particularly at night when it lulls me off to sleep.

Sorry about the flooding continuing. I know it's a pain in the arse.

Hey, it is what it is and gives us cause to slow down.but in our case should we slow down much more we’d be going backwards! 😊😊

Yes, we definitely slow down through there if there is high standing water.

We also love watching the ocean waves and kept our curtains open most of the time.

The water was fine for swimming most days during our trip. Not much of a drop off and no noticable undertoe. To be honest, I did not go in if the waves were too crazy. AKA Philippe.....

We had a lovely dinner at Roma in the Maho village tonight with friends we met through TTOL a few years ago.. The menu is extensive and includes all the Italian specialties you might expect and a lot more to satisfy most hungry souls. John had a ribeye cooked to perfection and I had a shrimp Caesar salad both of which were delicious. I don’t recall what our friends had but they are both into real Italian food and were very pleased as well. But back to Roma - excellent service in a very lovely setting as well as great ambiance in the place itself. And NO CLACKERS. A lovely dining experience so TY Terry and Rit for joining us. Credit cards no problem; reservations recommended; and valet service available at the casino. They’ve really classed up the area!

Pat, if you sit at the bar or high top you can order from either Mr Chow or Roma. We managed to arrive for happy hour. Drinks are 50% off with a variety of appetizers discounted. Top shelf Grey Goose dry martini was only $6

Were you there last night? Sorry I didn’t extend the invite to you but I remembered what David said about Italian dinners here on the island and his cooking prowess. Lol

I think its referring to the plastic hand clappers that Cheries, which used to be at that location before Irma, handed out.

Scuba is right on the money. I’m thinking when I wrote my comment it read clappers but every so often fb edits to what they perceive to be the intended word.

I think I hated those clappers almost as much as I disliked Cheri’s after my second time there.
