Nothing to report as it relates to Halloween because we didn’t get dressed up or attend any parties. There are fewer parties on Halloween each year and most of our friends don’t dress up so we didn’t seek out any parties to attend. I did buy long dangling spider earrings to wear this evening though.

A good beach day, a lot of sun. We tried to sit in front of the unit on our loungers under an umbrella we rented from Pack Light but decided to move down to the pool for the day. When we had enough sun we would go under the gazebo.

A quick trip to Maho Pharmacy around 4 pm when a quick rain shower came through. Stopped at Driftwood for a Rhum punch and rain stopped.

Dinner at Astra was disappointing. We were 7 for dinner having made reservations prior. The table was reserved when we arrived and service was friendly. Our dinner companions made the meal enjoyable.

David and I both ordered the prawn stuffed grouper. When it arrived I remember I ordered the same dish last year and wasn’t very fond of it. Instead of the fish lying flat with the filling layered on top of the grouper, the fish was wrapped around one prawn in a white sauce. Two pieces of Grouper per order with one Prawn inside each roll was plated with sauce on top. The sauce is rather bland and did not add much moistness to the fish which was dry in several spots. Picture below.

Mashed potatoes, fries or white plain rice are offered and you get a side salad. I intended to order lobster when the server responded it was $23.95 a lb. I declined. Several days ago it was $18.95 with Skipjacks still advertising $21.95 a pound. We ate a very enjoyable lunch last week and I thought the price was $19.95 but my friend recalls $18.95. There is a 15% service charge added to bill. Happy to report the server took out credit card machine and ran our credit cards and at no time did she ask if we wanted to add extra. This was experienced by all at our table.

Astra seems to be hit or miss, mostly miss IMHO. I had either the same or a similar dish in March and was very disappointed.

I could not have eaten that based solely on the pics.

It was difficult to get a decent photo. My fault 🤦🏻‍♀️ for not remembering I had ordered last year and wasn’t pleased with it. A shame because the tuna tartare for lunch was delicious.

OK, for sure, that pic doesn't look good. i agree with JD. Astra is very hit and miss. Too often a 'miss', to waste a meal there.

Wasn’t appetizing either. In this case, a picture is worth 1000 words..

Halloween - Made many visits for Halloween so we could go to the fun times at the, now gone, Lady C..... even remember Brian (SXM Yacht Club) being a bartender one year at the Lady C.... 30+ trips to St. Martin and we really miss being physically able to return... also, miss our favorite beach, Cupecoy, with Danny and what was, at that time (before condos) really busy and I think Destiny and John (?) serving all.... St. Martin was a major part of our lives, miss it... Y'all enjoy.

Yep we use to go to Lady C parties. Also SSBB, Kissing Fish, Red Piano. We hosted a few on behalf of TTOL. Lots of fun.

First Halloween party we attended was at Club O. It ended early so we all went to Grand Case to continue the party as we were staying on French side at Cap Caribes.

I really miss Lady C. I still have 2 of their t-shirts that reads "The Liver Is Evil And Deserves To Be Punished". Oh the looks and comments I get when I wear them.
