I know it was an issue years back (maybe 10 or more) with folks trying to run down cars passing thru when it's dark. Hopefully that's no longer a potential problem. Thanks.

Supposedly there are now lights on that road. Hubby refuses to drive that way in the dark; too many potholes and crazy drivers. Maybe if we actually see working street lights we might try it again.

pretty much all lights working except for the first bit nearest Maho.
Never felt unsafe driving through the area but the lights certainly help and don't think the holes are that bad if you drive slow More of a problem is driving back after a few drinks and missing a speed bump

We drive often at night through there with the dining options in Jordan Village and Cupecoy. No issues except when it rains then you have to navigate the puddles and watch out for all the potholes.

It was worse earlier this year, when they trenched along the side of the road to put in communication cables and electrical. That was filled in and the drive along there is not so bad anymore. As Mahokid said, you just have to watch the speed bumps.
I should mention now that the cables are in, Rosies Beach Bar now has Wi-Fi for the patrons to use 😃

Unfortunately, when they dug those trenches they also undercut the road and it has caved in in many places. The road is now quite treacherous with large holes and boulders nearly in the road. Personally close my eyes when we drive through the golf course due to the crazy drivers lane splitting..
Was noticing driving through Simpson Bay and Maho yesterday that Winward Roads has been busy circling the potholes for repair. But the circles stop at the golf course. As always.

Unfortunately, that road is privately owned. That's why it hasn't changed in the last twenty five years or longer.

So happy those trenches are filled. It was a fright driving thru there while it was under construction.
