Rendez Vous Lounge - Porto Cupecoy ednSsropto481gh30ght4ht57cim9auhu 7 lfg582tf8f9 h uf03t378919mt1 · After Hurricane Irma, Norwin approached me, asking if I could provide him with a gig to play Jazz with Fats. Despite RDVous Lounge being financially strained after the devastating storm, I recognised that not everything in life revolves around money. It was evident that our island lacked venues for people to gather and enjoy music. Hence, I decided to launch Jazz Lunch, a weekly event every Sunday from 1 PM to 4 PM at RDVous Lounge, thanks to the contribution of Mr. Norwin Merger. At that time, the band consisted of a keyboard player and Fats on the trombone. Alfredo Acosta, one of the best guitarists on the island from Venezuela, decided to join the band, bringing his drum skills to complement it. Ms Renee Hirs, from the Netherlands, a fabulous sax player, joined the band too. She was shy at first; but turned confident vocalist, delivering mesmerizing performances that will leave you captivated. Lolo - An incredible singer from France, infusing the band with her unique and captivating style. Two musicians from Surinam joined the band Stephan , a trumpet virtuoso and Gordon a Saxophonist and an army band leader. Ronny Santana- Displaying his mastery on both guitar and bass, he is renowned as one of the island's top musicians. Georgi- A talented bassist from Bulgaria, known for his international experience performing around the world. Additionally, Tanya, a skilled singer trained at the Berklee School of Music, occasionally joins the band. She divides her time between Paris and St. Martin. AS COVID swept across the island, musicians found solace in Jazz lunch, transforming it into their sanctuary when gigs disappeared. The stage became their church, where an abundance of talented musicians outnumbered the audience. Fats took on the role of preacher every Sunday, Spreading hope with his rendition of "What a Wonderful World" at Jazz Lunch. Today, Jazz Lunch has become a gathering of musicians, a Boeuf where we never know who will show up to play. One thing is certain: talented musicians will always be there, ready to create a mesmerizing experience. Thank you to Ali Montana, to Phil Wilton, to Richard Cantor, Enora, Owi Mazel, and many more. Jazz Lunch at Rendez-vous Lounge has become incredibly popular, making it risky to not book a table in advance. Don't miss out on this sensational musical experience. Call 1.721.545.3070.
