After lunch and a sweet fix at Bacchus express the sun finally made its return for a few late hours at the pool
With such a wonderful lunch and starting go get "Frenched" out, we decided to stay in the village and keep it low key
I have heard good things about Sao asian factory and was excited to give it a try Soa is the first restaurant as you enter the village We arrived fairly early around 7:00 (usually eat 8:30 PM or later) to find only a few other tables occupied Only two other restaurants in the village were opened and also very quite
We got our drink and food order in and almost every table was filled within 30 minutes We got our appetizer plate and then the service completely stopped on our combination appetizer plate were chicken bites, beef samosa, chicken spring rolls, shrimp tempura and gyoza along with 2 dipping sauces all seemed to be made in house and very tasty
about half way through the appetizer my wine glass was empty and couldn't get any eye contact for a refill a new server cleared our first course and I asked if she could refill our drinks with a pleasant smile she took our order We never had any further contact with our original server about 15 minuities later she delivers our two sushi rolls and says the bar is busy and drinks are coming, I could see the bar piled up with drinks to be served but our were buried in the pile of drink tickets we wait to eat the sushi and about 10 more minutes we get our drinks with a smile!!!
We have al ot of patience but this pretty much killed the evening
although the fish was fresh, the specialty rolls ordered were average at best I wouldn't come back and order sushi here The other Asian plates going by did look very good After reading some reviews it seems they have service issues of not having enough staff
It is ashame as the severs when at the table were very personable
Too many places still to try so probably won't be back Didn't want to spend anymore time there so no dessert
Not sure how many will be open during your visit. I believe L'Atelier may be reopening soon if you enjoy quality meats There should be plenty of restaurants to choose from between the village and Gran Case even if some favorites are closed It's a nice way to try new restaurants
Les Galets across the street from the main Orient entrance ( Orient Gardens and villas on the tall hill) is reopening next week and they have the best cheese trolley
We have been alternating our meals out and making it to Gran Case in 10 minutes using the Airport back entrance
