Just wondering if they have started construction of this resort yet? It was announced in August 2020 to be built on the land previously occupied by Dreams and Le Sands . I have not heard anything more about it since the announcement almost two years ago.

I don't think this project got started, as their building permits were rejected in late 2020. I don't know if there is more recent news than that. Here is a link to an article on that, and the second link is that translated to English.

Thanks. I guess it may never happen as is the case with many other projects announced in the past. It would bring a lot of business to the Marigot area which would be an asset .

The Westin at Dawn Beach is supposed to open as a JW Marriott once restored (I wonder how that's coming along). Maybe they don't feel the need any longer to have two Marriott branded properties on island?

I haven't been on island since January. They were projecting opening by November at that time, but it looked to me like there was a long way to go!

We were just talking about this the other day. Sad that Dreams and le Sand were not permitted to rebuild because of this project, that now may not happen.

Georgia--yes, that is a real shame. Bruno has moved on, but I LOVED Dreams, so much.

Who knows what they will decide to do. Things often are uncertain on the island. Some projects get easy access if the right palms are greased and others not so much!

We enjoyed Dreams except fpr the angle of the chairs to the beach and sun. Awesome food and service.
