Evening all!

I used to take friends down to the BVI to bareboat every year or other year until 2016. I've been back once since Irma and we stayed on Anegada and VG, but I haven't chartered since 2016. As I plan the trip over the next week or so, I'm hoping y'all can help with a few things. I'll try to google and search the forum before asking questions. Any help is appreciated!

After years with Moorings, we switched to Voyage and are planning to go with them again. It looks like Fish n Lime permanently closed. Is there a good place for dinner nearby other than Pusser's Landing? Best just to taxi over the North side to Apple or Carot Bay for a good restaurant? Suggestions appreciated.

In the past the Rite Way there at Soper's was not the best selection or prices, so we taxied to RT for provisions. Is there a better option? Has the Rite Way at Soper's improved?

Last question for now...how are food prices (both for provisioning and the restaurants) in general - way up relative to pre-Irma? Trying to budget as honestly as possible for the friends going with us.

Thanks!

Matt

Omar's Fusion in Sopers is good; specialty is Indian food, but they have other things.

I thought Riteway prices were consistent across their outlets, but I've never actively compared them. Prior to Covid, Riteway gave a discount on large provisioning orders. During Covid they started adding 10% to pack orders for pick-up. I believe that charge remains.

There are some new options. French Deli has a new, much larger store across from Moorings. Steakation is a new butchery across from the ferry terminal in Road Town. Seafood Kingdom in Pockwood Pond is terrific.

Thanks for the info! When I said not the best prices, I was comparing to One Mart in RT which is where we usually provisioned when we were with Moorings. Our primary issue was with selection, though. Thanks again!

The market in Sopers is fine for provisioning and you won’t have to pay the 10% if you walk over and pick up what you need. Certainly not worth the cost savings to cab to Roadtown.

When we go to Tortola to shop, we wind up going to Riteway, OneMart, and Bobby's.

Riteway: Has steadily decilned to the point that they have become ridiculous. They are by far the largest store, yet they have the poorest selection (other than meat) and the highest prices in general. Rather than carry a large selection, they will stock 4 feet of shelves top to bottom with the same product. They are almost like a big-box store, but high prices. The exceptions are that they do have the best meat market of the three and dood prices and fair selection on liquor.

OneMart: Better produce than Riteway, far better selection. In general, prices slightly better than RiteWay. Higher on Liquor.

Bobby's: Definitely best prices and also a good selection. Best place for dry goods and staples. You can find things at Bobby's that no one else has.

I should add, that for top-quality meat, you cannot beat Steakation Butchers. Pricey but worth it.

Ahoy Captain,

I recommend using Riteways as your primary/only source. The more venders that you get involved – the more chances for delays and other issues.
Here is a short list of Food and Liquor Provisioning sources in the BVI –
