Are there any ways for one person to charter in the BVI - sail or power? (w/o a captain)

I know a friend who did it many years ago. I believe with Sunsai on a smaller mono. He was a very accomplished racing sailor. I don’t see why it would be an issue for someone who’s got the resume to show they can do it. I’d just start by asking yourself if you can document that you’ve got the skills for it and if so, call the charter companies and ask.

I would check with the charter companies to see what their policies are. You would need to be extremely adept at and have a lot of experience with mooring and docking without assistance.

There's a pretty good chance that the charter companies' insurance policies require at least two people on board, but you can certainly call around to check.

A lot of insurance companies will not allow it. Even on my personal policy it is not allowed.

I do some shorthanded racing on our boat and it requires additional disclosure with the insurance company.
