We will we spending our 30th time in the amazing friendly island of SXM... Where do we stay for two days before our two week stay at orient... we used to stay at Mullet Bay area and SImpson Bay.... So where Near the airport ... Maho, Grand Case Beach Club, or Flamingo....???

People ask me why St Martin I say the best food the best beaches. Two different experiences on the same island

I would spend the two nights in Grand Case - and never leave!!! All depends on what you are looking for. If you want nightlife then I’d stay two nights right in the heart of Maho - maybe laTeresse - no need for a car

While we spend at least a week on both sides, if I only had two day to spend on the Dutch side, I would stay at Royal Islander La Plage.
On beach, great staff, some very good restaurants within a safe walk, casino, boat bar and some shopping along with a grocery store and drug store
Mullet / Jordan Village 5 minutes away, Cupecoy and Simpson Bay maybe 10 minutes away.

Less traffic than Simpson Bay.

For two nights....I would go with Maho. Easy walk to fine dining, casual dining and fun.

i personally don't care for Maho. I would go with either Mary's Boon, Atrium or Royal Palm.

Enjoy!!

Maho for sure. Plenty to do and very safe. Everything you need is in a three block village. For a couple of nights you can't go wrong.

For the last four or five years, we have spent two nights prior to our week at LaPlage at Mary's Boon. Staff, food, and beach are fantastic. Caribbean feel to the place, and considering that it's right on the beach, the price is decent!!

Where ever you stay for 2 nights your first day will be a check in day and last a moving day with only 1 full day in between. Decide what you want to do that day and plan where to stay then.

Mary’s Boon 100%. It’s right on Simpson Bay beach half of the rooms are beach front and you can walk right out to the sand. Garden rooms and lower garden rooms are just a few steps away from the beach. Prices are very good and they have a range of prices from budget up. Obviously the nicer rooms are more but Mary’s Boon has A vibe we love. Great beach bar and restaurant, not gourmet but very good food , prices and service. Very nice property. Great staff, you won’t want to leave!

If it was me, I’d stay at GCBC in a heartbeat. Maho is nice and there’s lots going on in that area, as is Mary’s Boon which is a very active vibe but neither can compare to Grande Case Beach Club IMHO. When we stayed at GCBC we parked our car on arrival and didn’t go near it again until we were heading home.

Respectfully,

pat

If It was up to me?? I'd stay if available at Beachside villas on Simpson bay beach!! Open your balcony doors, and take in that view of that beautiful ocean at your feet!! I'm going BSV all the way!!

We stayed our first two nights at GCBC a couple of years ago, before moving to our timeshare at La Vista Beach. We enjoyed the beach there during the day, and walked into Grand Case for dinner.

David--The original poster was asking about a two night stay, which normally I don't think BSV does.

Flamingo offers 2 night stays. Completely rebuild and under Hilton ownership. I'm a timeshare owner of 4 weeks and can attest that its so much better than in the past.

HI, if you want the Dutch side pre Orient, why not the Maho Sonesta.
For 2 nights you barley need to unpack and not concerns about foraging for food. Easy no stress beginning and so close to the airport to start your stay with a cold drink.

Another option would be Horny Toad Guest House. www.thtgh.com

You never know. It's worth asking !!! I know over the years a unit will be empty for a couple/few days until the new renters check in. IMHO. It's worth asking! It would be a great way to introduce a new client to BSV for just a couple of days to a full time booking!!
