[s][/s]As previously posted JFK and Jet Blue got us here quickly and with no problems Sunday. Got picked up in our newly purchased Kia Sportage. The sellers drove us to the Cliff and after a short unpacking of our stored stuff it was off to Porto Cupecoy for a great afternoon of music and Rendezvous food which was outstanding and reminded us why we love this place. Tuna tar tar and a Salad Nicoise. Quick stop at Kalatuah for HH then change clothes.

We then spent Sunday with out SXM family which is the staff at the SB Yachy Club. That is when we are truly home.

Monday was first day of being a resident, not a tourist. Returns of items the place is items at Mega Ace Hardware. Cole Bay is a mess. I believe they are trying to resurface the road which is good long term but bad to experience now. The Kia Sportage is perfect for these rough roads including the golf course part of Rhine road. Went to insurance place in Simpson Bay. Was fortunate that they “lended” us an employee who guided us through the 5 stop 3 hour experience of getting a French registered car converted to Dutch side with insurance. Wow. Had to have maintenance at the Cliff change plates as they are riveted on! No pre drilled holes to make it easier. Wow.

Food. Can’t recall Sunday night. We have been trying all week. It is the Twilight Zone night. Skip Jacks last night. At the bar with Lisa. Wonderful. Ate at Mark’s for lunch which is part of our transformation to being more the part of residents. We were the only ones there at lunch but they do a huge carry out. Tap and Cask for a lunch. Best burgers we have ever had on the island. A newfound treasure, the Cupecoy Brasserie. Excellent. Comparable to what Grand Case has to offer. Fat Tony’s for steak night.

Only hit the beach outside of our place once and picked up a wonderful lunch at Carefour Porto Cupecoy. Mahi Mahi with veggies and rice. Great lunch at Baird Rouge.

This place is truly the friendly island as we run into folks all over the place. It is great to have a network of people here to share info like tire fix it people and condo repair work, insurance set up. Still need to find out where to wash our Sportage inside and out.???

Hole in the Wall tonight to see Bobby Jagger. Sunday is Rembrandt House for Ronny Santana. Hope to see anyone on the island if you go there.

We are staying at the Cliff in October, we are so excited never been but have been in that area a while back. Any tips for the cliff would be great. How is the beach below right now? If it’s gone what would be the closest beach? Thank you Dolores

Enjoy ownership… We sold both our cars in SXM. Mechanics are hard to find and between license plates and road tax etc. it was not worth it.

We are always at Rembrandt Cafe (not house) for first and third Sundays since they started. A wonderful evening at a reasonable hour!

We'll be there 7/16, hope to see you & Bill again. The band we saw the last time was excellent.

I'm going where the weather suits my clothes.
